About
Julia is a passionate and accomplished pianist based in New York City and the Washington DC area. She is currently pursuing her M.M in piano performance at New York University, under Ms. Eteri Andjaparidze. As Adjunct Faculty at NYU, Julia teaches private lessons and applied music theory courses. She graduated cum laude with her Bachelor of Music from the University of Maryland on a full-tuition scholarship, under Dr. Larissa Dedova. She grew up in Maryland and has been playing piano and violin since she was 8.
She received third prize in the Washington International Piano Competition, and is a 2-time winner of the Rockville Competition for Piano and Strings. A natural performer, Julia has appeared on numerous stages including Carnegie Hall on both piano and violin, the Kennedy Center, Steinway Hall in NYC, Strathmore Mansion, Catholic University, Conservatorio de Música in Puerto Rico, Rockville Steinway Piano Gallery, and more. She was selected in 2024 for Steinway’s Spirio Showcase concert, one of the first concerts of its kind, where her NYC performance was SpirioCast onto a piano at UMD.
Julia is an active collaborator, chamber musician, and theatre pianist. She most recently served as music director for two shows at Adventure Theatre in Rockville, and class pianist for Young Artists of America. She has served as the orchestra pianist for the NYU orchestra, National Music Festival orchestra, and the Broadway Bach Ensemble. She is particularly passionate about vocal collaboration, and has served as a pianist for voice lessons and juries at the University of Maryland. On violin, Julia performed with Maryland Classic Youth Orchestras (MCYO) for 4 years.
